GEN. ROBERT MAGNUS USMC (RET)

Gen. Magnus has been a Director of EnerSys since July 2008. Gen. Magnus served as the Assistant Commandant of the Marine Corps from 2005 to 2008. He retired from the Marine Corps in 2008 after over 38 years of distinguished service. Gen. Magnus’ operational assignments included Commander, Marine Corps Air Bases Western Area and Deputy Commander, Marine Forces Pacific. Gen. Magnus’ staff assignments included Chief, Logistics Readiness Center, Joint Staff; Executive Assistant to the Director of the Joint Staff; Head, Aviation Plans and Programs Branch; Assistant Deputy Chief of Staff for Aviation; Assistant Deputy Commandant for Plans, Policies, and Operations; and Deputy Commandant for Programs and Resources. He is the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Elbit Systems of America, a provider of defense, homeland security, commercial aviation and medical products and solutions, as well as aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul services, and also serves on the Board of Directors of Augusta Westland NA, a subsidiary of Italy’s Finmeccanica, a producer of advanced helicopters, and All My Sons Moving and Storage, a provider of moving services. Gen. Magnus was formerly a Director of Fairway Group Holdings Corp, which is a provider of specialty grocery products and whose shares are listed on the NASDAQ Stock Market. Gen. Magnus received his Bachelor of Arts degree in history from the University of Virginia and his Master in Business Administration degree from Strayer College. His formal military education included Naval Aviator Training, U.S. Marine Corps Command and Staff College, and the National War College. Gen. Magnus’ personal decorations included two Distinguished Service Medal awards, the Defense Superior Service Medal, Legion of Merit, and Navy Achievement Medal.
