The history of the Hays plant traces back to our first VRLA battery produced in 1989 on a single production line with a handful of Associates. Since then, Hays has steadily grown to a 375,000 square foot facility with 4 assembly lines, a distribution center and a fully equipped product test center. Under the PowerSafe® and DataSafe® brands, EnerSys Hays produces five varieties of stationary flooded lead acid cells for backup power in UPS, switchgear and telecom applications.
Our flagship product line is used as the primary backup power solution in Nuclear electrical generation. These premier products set the industry standard in quality, reliability and value because exceptional design features are part of their fundamental design.

Meet the Team
Hays is one of the largest employers in our community and we proudly employ 250 Associates, some of whom have been here since that first battery was produced in 1989. Our Quality system is certified to ISO 9001:2015, and includes extensive receiving, in-process and final product testing. Our depth of experience and reputation for high standards ensures we produce superior value through the right product, delivered on time and on quality.
