EnerSys DataSafe Noir™ Energy Storage System Selected by UPS Rental Provider for Mobile Event Power Application

READING, Pa., October 22, 2026 — EnerSys (NYSE: ENS), a global leader in stored energy solutions, today announced that a U.S. provider of rental uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems has purchased the DataSafe Noir™ energy storage system following an initial customer evaluation. The equipment is intended for mobile UPS trailers used at entertainment events.

The customer serves major sporting and entertainment events across the United States. The trailers provide temporary backup power for equipment at the event site, with the loads supported and required backup duration varying between deployments.

The customer selected the DataSafe Noir™ energy storage system following initial testing and comparison with a competing supplier’s solution, with power density an important consideration in their decision. Before the purchase, EnerSys provided testing support and technical guidance on the application specification and commissioning requirements.

“Space is limited in a mobile UPS trailer, and the energy storage has to meet the application’s power and runtime requirements within that footprint,” said John Gagge, Vice President of Business Development, Network & Infrastructure Solutions at EnerSys. “For rental providers, those requirements can change from one event to the next.

“The DataSafe Noir™ energy storage system combines high power density with a compact footprint. This customer’s selection illustrates the DataSafe Noir™ system’s relevance beyond fixed data center installations. The initial purchase gives the customer an opportunity to assess performance and benefits in rental operations as it considers fleet expansion and further purchases.”

Changing Requirements for UPS Energy Storage

In data centers, changing workloads are placing greater emphasis on how UPS energy storage performs under load. AI training, inference and high-performance computing can involve different load profiles, including concentrated power demand and rapid changes in load. A runtime target remains essential but does not fully describe the duty that UPS energy storage must support.

UPS energy storage specifications should define power demand over time, discharge conditions, recharge requirements and the operating environment. Maintenance and replacement planning also influence energy storage availability when backup power is needed.

About DataSafe Noir™ Energy Storage Systems

Introduced in June 2026, DataSafe Noir™ is a high-density lithium-based energy storage system designed to deliver controlled performance in UPS applications, including those with highly variable demand profiles.

DataSafe Noir™ energy storage systems complement EnerSys’ established DataSafe® Thin Plate Pure Lead (TPPL) battery portfolio, providing lead-acid and lithium-based options for different operating requirements. EnerSys supports the DataSafe Noir™ energy storage system through its global installation, commissioning and service network.
